Angela Hart Competition: Win a Set of Angela Hart Novels

Monday 22 October 2018

Following on from the spring competition, we are once again pleased to be partnering with Bluebird, Pan Macmillan Publishers, to promote the series of stories by foster mum and Sunday Times bestselling author Angela Hart who, along with her husband Jonathan, has fostered more than fifty children.

Angela released a new book in August this year, called The Girl Who Wanted to Belong which can either be read as a full-length eBook or in three serialized eBook-only parts. This is part one of three.

The Girl Who Wanted to Belong is the moving story of her experience fostering one little girl with a heavy burden to carry.

Lucy is eight years old and ends up in foster care after being abandoned by her mum and kicked out by her new stepmother. Two aunties and then her elderly grandmother take her in but it seems nobody can cope with Lucy’s disruptive behaviour. Social Services hope a stay with experienced foster carer Angela will help Lucy settle down. She misses her dad and three siblings and is desperate for a fresh start back home, but will Lucy ever be able to live in harmony with her stepmother and her stepsister – a girl who was once her best friend at school?

Start your fostering journey today

A story of the difference that quiet care, a watchful eye and sympathetic ear can make to those children whose upbringing has been less fortunate than others.

Angela is set to release her sixth book The Girl in the Dark in February 2019, it’s about Melissa who is a sweet-natured girl with a disturbing habit of running away and mixing with the wrong crowd. After she’s picked up by the police, and with nowhere else to go, she is locked in a secure unit with young offenders. Social Services beg specialist foster carer Angela to take her in, but can she keep the twelve-year-old safe? And will Angela ever learn what, or who, drove Melissa to run and hide, sometimes in the dead of night?  A true story that shares the tale of one of the many children she has fostered over the years. Angela’s stories show the difference that quiet care, a watchful eye and sympathetic ear can make to those children whose upbringing has been less fortunate than others.
