Fostering Information Evenings in the East

Thursday 24 March 2016

Members of the NFA East team recently attended ‘Come and Meet Us Fostering Evenings’ in Sandy and Bedford to speak with people who are interested in becoming foster carers with the National Fostering Agency.

Both events were well attended by members of the public and a ‘Becoming a Foster Carer’ presentation was given by Peter Norman, Carer Recruitment Officer, and Supervising Social Workers Horia Astalos and Eve Raven.

The presentation helped people understand the requirements of becoming a foster carer, as well as showing the difference you can make to a child’s life. The presentation also covered the increasing need for foster carers to take on parent and child, and sibling group placements. Throughout the evening members of the public were able to meet with other people who foster for the National Fostering Agency and gave a real insight to those considering becoming foster carers.

The events in Bedfordshire were very successful and NFA East are now planning more fostering information events in the coming months.
