Past, Present and Future Campaign

Wednesday 08 November 2017

National Fostering Agency (NFA) South West recently launched its Past, Present and Future campaign. NFA foster carers from around Bristol and Gloucester came together to join in with the celebrations and bought with them their own personal stories and experiences. Past, Present and Future aims to not only form a selection of carer experiences from around the South West, but will also push further recruitment of new carers within the region.

The launch celebrated 10 years of NFA in the South West and bought together an array of individual heart-warming stories from carers themselves. Sue Beale, the South West Regional Manager, spoke about the campaign and ways in which carers could contribute by raising further awareness of the work NFA does.

Nafisa Dar, Lyn Rainey and Lynn McElwee all spoke highly of their own experiences as carers, but also why they chose NFA to begin with. After the buffet lunch, the second half was more relaxed with the opportunity for everyone to network with staff and potential carers. There was a fun photo booth where carers took creative pictures with the props provided, and there was a bespoke ‘Book of Life’ where carers were encouraged to share their thoughts of National Fostering Agency.

Sadly, the event also said a big thank you and a goodbye to Alison Tsangari who has been an NFA Social Worker for 10 years. Alison will be leaving us to migrate to New Zealand at the end of this year. We would like to wish Alison all the best for the next chapter of her life in New Zealand. She will be missed by both carers and colleagues.

Past, Present and Future will run throughout 2018, and will showcase four stories coinciding with each of the seasons. The first of these stories will be released in January 2018 and will focus on a carer who has been with NFA for 10 years.
