I’m Colin Drever team Manager fostering NFA Wales. I have been a social worker since qualifying in 1998. My first employment was with Bridgend CCBC, where I undertook a role as a child Protection social worker. Following this I had various Child Protection roles working in Newport, Cardiff and Merthyr Tydfil before taking a post as a Supervising Social Worker with The Adolescent and Childrens Trust. I remained in post for almost 9 years before leaving to establish a regional office for SWIIS. Here I acted as a Registered Manager. Several positions followed within medium sized agencies including Fostering Outcomes and Regional Foster Families. I applied to join NFA as I was impressed with the Wales leadership giving a clear outline of direction as well as being approachable. Being a large agency there is added security and a consistent view and goal. I look forward to working with the agency, carers and young people and following a clear career pathway in order to develop positive outcomes for the young people we care for.
