Find out if you could be a foster carer
In a few simple questions, you’ll know if you’re suitable to apply to become a foster carer.
I have been a qualified Social Worker since 1994. I have over 30 years of experience & I have worked with children and families from 1989. I have extensive experience working with children and families and looked after children within the local authority.
I started my career working within the fostering and adoption team in a local authority where I did my placement during my social work qualification which I enjoyed thoroughly. I then worked as a local authority social worker initially but then progressed to a team manager role within the Child in Need, Child protection, and court work arena from 2005 to 2019. More recently I decided to work with foster carers within the Independent Fostering Agency sector and have worked with 3 different IFAs as a Fostering Manager as well as a Supervising Social Worker as I am passionate and enthusiastic about my role and always strive hard to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children and young people. I prefer working directly with children, foster carers, and the professional network for best outcome for the children and young people involved.
I joined Ryancare in January 2025 and it has become a place where I feel as if I have always worked here, the team is small but really supportive and the foster carers are hardworking and face challenges with support from the team.
