Are you up for a challenge?

Thursday 24 March 2016

Staff members and foster carers at NFA are no strangers to challenging sponsored events. After the success of the NFA Wales charity half marathon, in which 5 members of the team at NFA Wales competed, NFA are once again calling for participants to help raise money for its chosen charity, Place2Be.

How does Place2Be help change children’s lives?

Place2Be is a national children’s charity providing counselling for children in schools. Members of the charity help transform children’s lives, removing the emotional barriers to learning which, when not addressed, can lead to low aspirations and poor educational achievement. Aside from this, Place2Be also supports parents and guardians to help them build positive and supportive relationships with their children and the school.

Place2Be’s aim is to improve children’s classroom learning, allowing them to become confident individuals, hopefully leaning them towards a bright and hopeful future.

How You Can Help

Two sponsored events are taking place and we need YOU. Here they are:

Glasgow to Edinburgh Cycle

Are you a keen cyclist? Or are you up for a new challenge?

Catherine Henderson, the Business Manager from Place2BE in Scotland, attended the NFA Scotland team meeting asking if our carers and staff can join in.

The 47 mile cycle will take you from Glasgow to Edinburgh, taking you through some of the most scenic routes these cities have to offer. This is a personal challenge for anyone, but knowing that you’ll be raising money for a great cause will keep those legs moving. Lunch at Linlithgow Palace is included, with plenty of entertainment on hand at the finishing line in Edinburgh to help you forget about any aching muscles.

With training advice, fundraising tips and encouragement along the way, Place2Be will make sure you have an experience to remember!
