New Pathway for fostering agency as it opens its doors to the Coventry community
Pathway Care, an independent foster care agency, opens its doors in Coventry later this month in a bid to reach out to the local community offering support and training for foster carers.
The successful agency, which currently holds a number of regional offices across Wales, The Midlands and South West England, has established the ‘drop-in’ style office to build an environment for people interested in becoming foster carers, as well as supporting pre-existing carers in the local area.
Located on a high-street thoroughfare in a busy residential area on Church Lane just outside of Coventry’s city centre, Pathway Care is hopeful that the new office will attract much needed new foster carers by being able to offer dedicated local support and training with a personal approach. Research results suggested these type of offices would be more impactful in offering potential and current foster carers a one-stop-shop information centre.
The community style office will be able to offer existing foster carers based in the area more ‘local’ support offering them the opportunity to make appointments to discuss any issues with a qualified social worker, without excessive travel to the nearest main office. Catherine Rioda, Regional Service Manager for the Central Region will be heading up the Coventry office launch.
Commenting on the launch of the Coventry office, Catherine said: We are delighted to be opening our doors in Coventry to show our support to our existing carers who live in the area, but also to reach out to others in the local region who may be thinking about or in the early stages of becoming a foster carer. We have a fantastic team of staff who are determined to make a success of the new office as we look to recruit a diverse pool of foster carers for parent and child fostering, children with disabilities, siblings group and all ages.
The Coventry office officially launches on 18th September 2013 and is holding an open day between 12pm-4pm to encourage people holding an interest in becoming a foster carer to come along and find out further information and advice.
