Funds will be raised for AKAMBA, a charity that supports the needs of disadvantaged children in other countries.

Catherine Rioda, regional service manager for Pathway Care in the Midlands, said: “Our whole ethos is around offering support and care to vulnerable children. The Youth Council meets every school holiday to participate in the review and improvement of our service and does a great job in organising events like the Charity Walk – it’s great that our members are thinking about other children and wanting to help their community with this event.

“This event is a great opportunity for our young people, staff and foster carers to work collectively to support AKAMBA and help them support others. We support our foster carers in a number of different ways – from holding events such as the charity walk, to the high quality support we offer as part of our package – 24 hours a day, therapists, social worker and nationally recognised qualifications. We look forward to our Youth Council raising funds for a worthwhile cause.”
