Supervising Social Worker

I qualified as a Social Worker in 2011 from the University of Chester. Previously, I had worked in a number of roles with children and families including as a support worker and a nursery nurse whilst completing a degree in Childhood and Adolescence studies from Liverpool John Moores university.

As a Social Worker, I have worked with the Local authority including in child protection as a duty and assessment worker. Completing court work, attending child protection case conferences, and completing direct work with children were just some of my responsibilities during this role.

After starting a family, I became self-employed as an independent form F Assessor. I completed assessments for a number of different agencies. I have experience of assessing and preparing prospective foster carers and have successfully supported them through to panel.

I have recently joined Alpha Plus Fostering as a Supervising Social Worker. I have been working in this position for a couple of years and have enjoyed working with foster carers. I have learnt so much from their experiences and I continue to expand my knowledge and understanding including in therapeutic parenting and trauma-based practices.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family including with my two children. I love going on holidays. We have recently adopted a cat named 'Buddy' who has made himself at home. He enjoys sleeping for most of the day and playing with the neighbour's cat 'Charlie'.
