Jo

Registered Manager

I have over 24 years of social work experience primarily with looked after children/young people and fostering. After gaining my diploma in social work from Anglia Ruskin University in 2001, initially I worked for a charity supporting pregnant teenage mums for 12 months before working for Essex County Council within child protection, continuing care and fostering.

In 2010 I managed the fostering team in Herefordshire and over a period of five years progressed to Head of Service for looked after children. In September 2015 moved to London and started working for the charity Home for Good as the regional development manager for London, which involved support to and recruitment of foster carers and adopters. In August 2017 I became a team leader for a permanence team in Greenwich supporting young people between 14-25 years of age.

I hold a BA (Hons) degree in social ethics and social science and a BA (Hons) degree in social work.

In 2018 I returned to Essex and started work with Aspirations Fostering, initially in post as assistant team manager and was later appointed as registered manager, a post I held for nearly 7 years.

My job is to make sure that our agency is doing everything that the Government and Ofsted expects to meet the required standards and legislation. I am responsible for ensuring the staff support and guide you and that all children are safe and making progress towards achieving positive outcomes.
