  • Day Tuesday
  • Time 6pm - 8pm
  • Date 26.02.2019

Event Details

Come along to Premier Inn, Chorley North on Tuesday February 26th at 6:00pm to find out more about fostering for Alpha Plus in Lancashire. We currently have a huge need to recruit more foster carers in Lancashire and we would like the opportunity to help you find out more by providing you with all the information you might need to decide whether you could be a good foster carer.

On the day there will be a presentation with general information about fostering; we will talk about the types of fostering, the ages of children who are looking for homes and the behaviours they might present with, why children come in to foster care and how you can make a difference.

This will be followed by an opportunity for you to ask all the questions which are important to you. Deciding to become a Foster Carer is a life changing decision and we want you to have all the information you need!

You can learn more about all of these topics

  • Fostering Siblings
  • Fostering Teenagers
  • Parent and Child Fostering
  • Types of fostering – Short term, long term and respite
  • Education and support for children living in Foster Care
  • Support for carers from the agency including Helping Hands
  • Training and development opportunities with Alpha Plus
  • Financial Support

Lancashire County Council is currently our biggest referring local authority, in 2018 they referred to Alpha Plus an average of 71 children per month. That is 71 vulnerable children looking for a safe place to live in Lancashire where they can live a normal stable family life. If you have a spare bedroom and the time and commitment to offer one or more of these children then please come along on Tuesday 26th February 2019 and find out more

There is Parking available onsite and the venue is located minutes from the M61. Refreshments will be provided.

Please book your tickets here to help us plan. Thank you.

If you are interested in fostering but are unable to attend and would like more information now you can visit us here and you can arrange for our Carer Engagement Officer, Nicky to send you an information pack or to call for an informal chat.
