Have you been thinking about fostering but want to know more?

Alpha Plus Fostering will be at Dr Kershaw’s Summer Fair on Sunday June 10th 2018 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Turf Lane, Royton, OL2 6EU.

Come along and have an informal chat with our Carer Engagement Officer, Nicky. She will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about fostering. You can take away fostering information from the event and/or arrange for Alpha Plus Fostering to visit you at home to discuss fostering in more detail.

We are looking for Foster Carers who have the ability to care for sibling groups and children over the age of ten in particular. Children come into care for a variety of reasons but often this is due to neglect and abuse and they therefore need resilient foster carers who are able to help them to cope with the range of difficult emotions they have due to suffering from trauma.

Have you have experience of working with children or caring for your own children?

Do you have space and a spare bedroom which could be used solely by a Foster Child?

Do you have lot of love and patience to offer?

If you can answer yes to these questions then we want to hear from you!

You do not need to have an income already or lots of money in the bank as we pay a generous allowance of at least £400 per week to help you looks after these children and give them the best possible care.

We do not care about your race, religion beliefs, relationship status or sexuality or whether your house is rented or owned. Children looking for a foster home come from diverse backgrounds and therefore we need a range of foster carers to look after them and offer them opportunities that they otherwise would not have. Do not rule yourself out, too many people believe they cannot foster when in fact they can. Come along and have a chat.

On the day we will be hosting a range of children’s games and activities at the fair. This is our opportunity to support them in raising awareness of the wonderful services they offer across the community of Oldham. Please come along with the family to what promises to be a fun packed afternoon!
