    Initial Visits
    An initial visit is when a member of our team comes to your home to tell you more about fostering, get to know you and your family and look at the next step in your fostering journey.
    Jane will be talking about how to book your visit, what to expect and why it is an important stage in the process of becoming a foster carer.
    Fostering & Disability
    It is a common misconception that people with disabilities can't foster. We are going to be speaking to one of our foster carers to talk about his experiences of fostering with a disability. Find out more about the support, guidance and training available and how we welcome people looking to foster with a disability.
  • Fostering & Faith
    Our children, young people and foster carers have a wide range of backgrounds.
    Our priority is to match them to create a secure, stable and loving environment.
    We'll be talking to Keith and Shahnaz about fostering and the different ways in which faith has influenced and supported their fostering journey.

    LGBTQ+ & Fostering
    As part of this event, you will meet Jamie from New Family Social, an organisation established to offer advice, support & advocacy for LGBTQ+ foster carers and adoptees.
    Amy, a National Fostering Group Carer Recruitment Office, and one of our foster carers, as they talk about fostering and the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Fostering is Fun
    Join us on Bank Holiday Monday as we talk about why fostering is fun! Day trips, garden games, cooking and more.
    Hear from our foster carers about their memorable moments having fostering fun.
    We'll also be speaking to Rachel one of our Carer Recruitment Officers about activities and events the National Fostering Group host for our foster carers.
    Fostering & Siblings
    We will be meeting foster families with birth and fostered siblings and talk to them about their fostering journey.

    We'll be talking to one of our foster newly approved carers about their journey. What inspired them to become a foster carer, some of their most memorable moments, and what advice they would give to anyone thinking about becoming a foster carer.

    Meet the team who will guide you through your fostering journey.
    We'll be joined by Shona, a Referrals Manager and Melissa, a Placement Social worker to find out more about how we match children and young people with foster carers.
    We'll be discussing topics such as, what information we receive about children coming into foster care, how we share this with foster carers, how time scales play a factor and what information is shared with the child or young person.
    National Fostering Group Podcast
    We'll be talking to some of the foster carers featured in the Podcast about their experiences, why they decided to be involved and what they hope people will learn from listening.
    We'll also be telling you more about how and when you can download the Podcast to listen.
