Who are Jay Fostering

We offer our dedicated foster carers an excellent support package in making sure they feel empowered and well-equipped with everything they need to know on the way to becoming an expert foster carer.

From the moment you make an enquiry about becoming a foster carer with us, to working with your social worker (SSW) on your application and welcoming your very first child or young person to your doorstep, we are with you every step of the way.

You will have access to a 24-hour, 365-days a year on call service, regular visits from qualified and experienced social workers, as well as the opportunity to attend comprehensive ongoing training and catch up with other foster carers in your area at local support groups.

Making an instrumental difference to children and young people across The Midlands

The reasons why children are looked after by foster carers vary enormously. Each child or young person’s circumstances are unique and by providing a safe and caring family environment, foster carers can help children and young people overcome challenges brought about by past adversity.

We are therefore looking for patient, understanding and highly motivated individuals and couples who are able to demonstrate they can offer the type of close-knit family environment instilling a sense of belonging and identity in a child, as well as being able to provide them with the opportunity to achieve all that they want out of life.

Foster carers are needed for a variety of different reasons. Depending on suitability, you could be considered for a wide range of foster care or specialise in a certain area, which can include:

  • Children arriving in the UK without their parents or carers
  • Parent and child
  • Teenagers
  • Children with disabilities
  • Babies
