Team Manager

Hello! This is my career in a nutshell:

Having qualified as a Youth & Community Worker in the 1980’s, I went on to qualify as a social worker in 1992.

For the first sixteen years of my career, I worked for a Local Authority, initially as an Assistant Residential Childcare Manager, (and upon qualifying) as a Registered Manager. I was then promoted to Team Manager and went on to help develop and manage a multi-agency (in house) therapeutic service (part funded by the Deputy Prime Minister’s office) for children and young people in out of county residential provisions. I was also a member/vice chair of the Local Authority’s Adoption Panel during this time.

In 2005, to be more available to my own children, I decided to become a self-employed, and for the next fifteen years, worked as a Fostering Form F Assessor, Fostering Panel member and for the most part, as an Independent Reviewing Officer for two different national Independent Fostering Agencies and (from 2017) for a neighbouring Local Authority.

In early 2020, I was offered the post of Team Manager / Fostering Panel Advisor with another large national Independent Fostering Agency, prior to joining NFA SW’s management team in 2022.
