Find out if you could be a foster carer
In a few simple questions, you’ll know if you’re suitable to apply to become a foster carer.
I qualified as a social worker in 2007 and went on to work as a children’s social worker for two separate local authorities for 8 years. My role as a social worker was to support children that had special needs and health needs that were either child in need, looked after, or were on child protection plans.
During my time as a children’s social worker, I worked closely with foster carers and their supervising social workers, which helped me to make the decision to navigate into the fostering arena, and decide to work for the National Fostering Agency to participate and promote children and young people in care to have the same opportunity as everyone else to thrive and reach their full potential in life.
