Find out if you could be a foster carer
In a few simple questions, you’ll know if you’re suitable to apply to become a foster carer.
Foster carers, looked after children, birth children and the staff team all thoroughly enjoyed a Spooktacular Halloween day out at Kenniford Farm near Exeter. Activities included apple-bobbing, some amazing face painting, pumpkin cutting and some very ‘spooky-slimy’ cup cake decorating,
Kenniford Farm staff provided a superb lunch and a farm tour which include the chance to cuddle a young piglet – we shall never know what the piglets made of the painted faces but on their return from the tour we heard that the piglets were ‘really warm and cuddly’.
As an early Christmas Giving activity everyone filled a shoe box for ‘Operation Christmas Child’. This initiative is organised by Samaritans Purse which sends thousands of shoe boxes filled with toys to children in need all over the world. Pavers of Newton Abbot donated 20 shoe boxes. Foster carers and children donated a huge pile of gifts to go into the boxes, which were then wrapped in Christmas paper. As the boxes were packed adults and children alike reflected on how Christmas might be for the recipient, and what they might wonder about the giver as they opened the boxes.
