E-Learning with AC Education

Thursday 24 March 2016

We are delighted to be working in partnership with AC Education, a leading online training provider in the UK, in meeting all your E-Learning training needs.

AC Education supports the training of those working within the children and young people’s workforce, focusing on the most vulnerable within our communities.

The range of E-Learning courses provides you with the knowledge across a range of issues that is essential learning for Foster Carers.  The programme of courses are offered to you as high quality, flexible and straight forward.  They are designed to enable you to gain valuable skills, grow in confidence and in knowledge.

Due to the high level of data security and encryption within the learning platform, the courses can be accessed from the comfort of your own home, through your desk top computer, laptop, tablet, ipad and smart phone. Enabling absolute flexibility and access to the training courses, to fit round you, your placement, your lifestyle.

Start your fostering journey today

Courses vary in length from 10 to 20 hours depending on the complexity of the content covered from course to course.  Your learning journey will be fully supported through their dedicated support line, useful website resources and interactive workbooks that can be downloaded onto your desk top to share with your social workers.  At the end of each course, you receive a certificate upon completion of the multiple choice quiz, to support your Continual Professional Development.

The courses are reviewed and kept up to date with current legislation and are mapped to Training Support and Development Standards.

E-Learning is not something that has to be done alone either. Get together with other Carers in your area for an E-Learning evening, where you can all meet up, enjoy a cuppa, share your experiences and work on your allocated courses online. Maybe meet at your local library with a fellow carer and study together.  There are lots of ways you can complete your on-line courses.  Feel free to discuss these as well as any ideas you may have with your Supervising Social Worker in your next supervision or within your local support group.

For a full list of available courses, please visit www.ac-eduction.co.uk and click on the E-Learning link at the top of the page.  This will give you a full list of available courses to choose from.  This is updated once a week so please keep checking it to be made aware of which new courses are available.

Initially each Fostering household had the opportunity to book 2 E-learning courses per Training Calendar year.  We have now made the decision that households can complete further E-Learning courses and so if you have already completed your 2 courses, please sign up to start your next set of courses on-line.

E-learning is not mandatory, however we want to be able to offer you as much variety in terms of access to learning and development and to be able to further enhance and develop your skill-sets. If you would like to find out further information about our e-learning courses and how to arrange signing-up for them please contact Julia Charles our Learning & Development Administrator at our Uxbridge office on 01895 200300 or at [email protected]
