Friday 8th May marked VE Day, 75 years since Prime Minister Winston Churchill made the announcement that the war in Europe had ended and we had victory.

Following the two minutes silence in honour of all the brave and heroic servicemen and women this VE Day, David Osbourne, foster carer for Fostering Solutions, sang two live songs dedicated to all the host families who provided a safe haven for 3 million children evacuated 75 years ago and to 55,000 foster families who continue to provide loving, caring and safe homes today.

He sung fantastic renditions of Dame Vera Lynn’s White Cliffs of Dover and We’ll Meet Again live from his Facebook page, receiving over 2,200 views! The songs tell of love and brighter futures, a perfect tribute to foster families who play such a significant role in children’s lives and nurturing and inspiring them to achieve throughout life whilst supporting them along the way. You can watch Dave singing the two songs here.

The Cheshire foster carer has also been lifting community spirits, using his singing voice to raise money for the incredible NHS. Donations are welcomed to his fundraiser for NHS Charities Together. More information can be found here.
