Find out if you could be a foster carer
In a few simple questions, you’ll know if you’re suitable to apply to become a foster carer.
I am Team Manager in the region so it is my role to supervising the Social Workers who support the Foster Parents and young people that we have in our care. I have been a Social Worker since qualifying in 2015 and since qualifying I have always worked in Fostering. First for a small agency that closed down before moving to the National Fostering Group in 2016 and now within Reach Out Care. My roles before coming to Social Work including supporting adults who were unemployed, working with charities and Not for profit agencies, working within Probation and also working in a Charity who supported families who had caring responsibilities for someone with Mental Ill Health. All of these roles helped me to understand some of the challenges and difficulties of families that young people who come to live with our Foster Carers may have experienced. I love my job and the agency that I work for because I like supporting Foster Parents to support our children and young people to make happy memories in a safe, caring and nurturing environment and hope that they will go on to fulfil their dreams.
