Congratulations to Jamie Barrett from Family Placement.com, who has won the Outstanding Contribution by a Social Worker in the Fostering Excellence Awards. This particular award recognises a social worker who has made an exceptional contribution to foster care.
Nominated by Becky, her Foster Carer, she said: “Jamie never ‘dropped the ball’ in her role. I feel she always has my back and she has supported me through some very difficult times. She is the epitome of a superwoman! I’m so grateful to have her as my social worker, there are times that I don’t know how I would have coped without her. Jamie really looks after her foster carers, not just me. But she really cares about the foster children too. She takes the time to listen and get to know people”.
The Fostering Excellence Awards Ceremony usually takes place in London, however, due to Covid-19, the 2020 winners were recognised and their outstanding achievements celebrated online.
Huge well done to Jamie on this award – an inspiration to all!
