Find out if you could be a foster carer
In a few simple questions, you’ll know if you’re suitable to apply to become a foster carer.
Alliance spring events are always popular — but this year we pulled out all the stops to delight everyone with a creepy crawly bug theme!
For a week beforehand, our team made decorations and prepared to transform the office into a rainforest themed bug haven.
The morning of our bugtastic event was a riot of creativity, with people crafting everything from creepy crawly hats to beautiful bug themed window art.
Outside, football, rounders and parachute games were played on the field, taking advantage of the glorious weather.
By lunchtime, everyone had worked up an appetite, so the ‘bring and share’ buffet lunch (especially the hotdogs) was a great success.
In the afternoon we got to meet some real creepy critters, courtesy of local insect zoo ‘Bugtopia’, who joined us after lunch.
The children and young people were brave and willing to get involved, with most holding at least some of the creatures — even snakes, lizards and cockroaches.
And of course we had to have our very own ‘I’m a Celebrity’ challenge, including bush tucker trials with plenty of daring (and mess) involved.
With youngsters sampling stomach churning delights like wiggly worms and ‘swamp juice’, everyone enjoyed trying to earn team points.
Bugtastic was another resounding success, a chance for carers, children, young people and staff to come together for a relaxed day of fun and laughter.
The entire event experience showcased children enjoying each other’s company and the special relationships that have been built within our community.
