Find out if you could be a foster carer
In a few simple questions, you’ll know if you’re suitable to apply to become a foster carer.
Huge congratulations to Sabrina-Jayne, who has won an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution by Sons and Daughters’ in this year’s Fostering Excellence Awards!
This particular award celebrates a son, daughter or sibling group, aged 18 or under, who have gone the extra mile to support their parents or the young people in foster care with their family.
Sabrina-Jayne’s parents, who foster through Familyplacement, have fostered more than 100 children over 26 years and are immensely proud of their daughter for winning this prestigious award.
Judith, Sabrina-Jayne’s mum said: ““All of our birth children, and now our adopted daughters, have been wonderfully supportive of our fostering, and have made such a positive difference to all of the 100 or so children that we have cared for over the years – we couldn’t have done it without them.”
The Fostering Excellence Awards, organised by national charity The Fostering Network, celebrate outstanding achievement in fostering and recognise those who make exceptional contributions to foster care every day.
What a way to end Sons and Daughters month, which marks the incredible role played by the birth children of foster carers in supporting vulnerable young people in care.
Well done Sabrina-Jayne!
