We held a BBQ for our foster carers and their families at Itchen Valley Country Park, near Southampton, on the last weekend in September. We had some lovely
feedback from those that attended:
One of our foster carers said:
I was really pleased to meet Andy Clipson for the first time and put a name to a face. Our child was super excited to meet up with her friends and play
tag. I offered to face paint and ended up getting a Picasso on my cheek! There was a great raffle where all the kids won something and the jelly beans
went down a treat. Plus some lovely food as always.
One of our social workers said:
I came along with my son; he was the super tall one who was hard to miss!
I couldn’t believe how hot it was, it was perfect barbeque weather. It was lovely to see so many fostering families and everybody seemed to have a
really good time. I always think that it’s nice to see our foster carers and children in a less formal setting. The children and young people seemed to really enjoy the sporting and non sporting activities that took place on the day and I am sure there were lots
of children napping in the car on the way home (I know that my son slept for the whole 1.5-hour journey)!I thought that the event was very well organised and I know that there was a huge amount of work that went into the planning prior to the day so a
huge thank you to Shar and Lisa for that. The food was AMAZING and I think that everybody agreed that the burgers and sausages were cooked to perfection so a big thank you to the chef!
