Fostering Service 2018 Ofsted Inspection Report

We are delighted to say we have been assessed as GOOD in all three assessment areas

The assessment areas were:
1. Overall experiences and progress of children and young people, taking into account
2. How well children and young people are helped and protected
3. The effectiveness of leaders and managers

Over the last three years Reach Out Care Fostering Service has worked hard to make sure the voices of its children and young people have been listened to. The inspection report identified this. The inspector considered that Reach Out Care ‘has a strong commitment to participation. Children and young peoples views are sought and considered in the running of the agency’

The report praised foster carers for helping children to make good progress in all areas of their lives. Children and young people within the agency ‘enjoy living with their foster carers and feel part of the families that they live with.’

The management team would like to extend its thanks to all its internal and external stakeholders who have supported the service and enabled us to achieve and excellent foundation for growth.

We are always looking for potential foster carers who are committed to making sure children and young people achieve good outcomes and have the tenacity to stick with a child through thick and thin.

Marital status, sexuality, age or whether or not you are a home owner do not impact on becoming a successful foster carer – this is about your ability to nurture and care for a child and to work as part of a professional team.

You must be over 21 years old, have a spare bedroom and have the time and availability to dedicate yourself to fostering.

Experience of caring for or working with children is an advantage though not essential.
