Saying goodbye: Where can I get support in dealing with the emotional side of saying goodbye?

One-to-one support for our foster carers starts from the moment you contact your local National Fostering Group agency. The support will be provided for any concerns you may have, including the emotional troubles of saying goodbye to your foster child. The support you will receive includes:

  • 24-hour telephone support.
  • A monthly visit and weekly telephone call.
  • Support groups where you can voice your worries and have support from experienced foster carers who have been through it before.
  • Membership of The Fostering Network, who have member helplines and an online community.
